The Jamaican currently holds world records in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m with times of 9.58s, 19.19s and 36.84s respectively
The public prosecution charged the defendant, but he denied all the accusations. The man said he had been asking his neighbour not to park his car in front of his house. The accused added that just a day before the incident, he told the neighbour to move his vehicle from the place and gave him a stern warning.
However, as his neighbour didn't pay heed to it, he called him and an argument ensued over the phone, according to Emarat Al Youm.
The defendant admitted that during the call, he threatened to set the complainant's vehicle on fire if he ever parked it in front of his house. He added that on the day of the incident, he went out to take care of some business. When he returned, he found that his neighbour's car was burned, he pointed out.
The accused contended that he didn't commit the crime, and had only issued threats in a fit of rage.
